Fungi
Introduction
An attempt at identifying fungi. There’s a strong chance I am 99% wrong.
Stinkhorn - Close to Greenham Common Nature Reserve - Berkshire
Out walking with my friend Will searching for one of the last blooming orchids in the UK - Autumn Lady Tresses. We didn’t find any unfortunately but we did find these!
Chicken of the woods - Bagley Wood - Oxfordshire
Apparently as the name suggests it tastes of chicken… or at least is a good replacement for chicken!
Oyster Mushroom - Bagley Wood - Oxfordshire
Coral Fungus - Kingley Vale - Chichester
Stinkhorn - Kingley Vale - Chichester
Surrounded by his fallen comrades.
Volvariella Bombycina / Tree mushroom - Kingley Vale - Chichester
I want to show just how enormous this mushroom was. It diameter is roughly 10", maybe even bigger. Honestly it was a beast to be reckoned with. It’s quite a rare one this and in Hungary it is illegal to pick!
Fly Agaric - Bagley Wood - Oxford
Found walking with Adam whilst collecting sweet chestnuts. Adam wouldn’t eat a foraged nut as he thinks food collection should be left to the professionals 🤷♂️.
Lycoperdon Perlatum / Common Puffball - Bagley Wood - Oxfordshire
Aniseed Funnel - Bernwood - Oxfordshire - October 2022
Giant Funnel - Bagley Woods - Oxfordshire - October 2022
Candlesnuff Fungus - Bagley Woods - Oxfordshire - October 2022
Magpie Inkcap - Bagley Woods - Oxfordshire - October 2022
Grey Spotted Amantia - Benj’s Forest #2 - North Wales - November 2022
Turkey Tail - Coed Felenrhyd - North Wales - November 2022
Black Bulgar - Coed Felenrhyd - North Wales - November 2022
